Introduction Many District Councils now require people working with food (either preparing, serving or working in the production of food items) to hold Unit 167, and supervisors of food workers to hold Unit 168. Check with the Council in your area to find out what their specific requirements. We can help you to achieve either one or both of these units. Food Safety Course Options: To suit your needs, we currently offer 3 ways to do Food Safety training with us: Option 1. | Unit 167 - Half day Course: a fun and interactive half day course that covers the basic principles of practices that result in safe food. People accredited with Unit 167 are able to maitain effective person hygieve when working with food, prevent cross-contamination and measure, record and act upon the temperature of high risk food. We provide all the course materials for you to read and questions to answer in your own time, at your own pace. Once you have completed the written assessment (Open book) questions, contact your local assessor to arrange a time for them to visit you and conduct a verbal assessment of your learning. The fee for this option is slightly higher than doing a half day course. | | Option 3. | Groups: A half or one day course for groups of people as requested by an employee – to be run in your workplace or an alternative venue can be arranged. |
